18 Nov Lumos Helmet Unboxing (Video)
My first unboxing just happened and this is a good one. I am checking out the highly anticipated Lumos Helmet.
This helmet features LED turn signals as well as the standard front and rear lights. Rear light even works as a brake light when you’re stopped.
The box comes with a backpack cover, Bluetooth remote to trigger the signals, a flat bar remote extender for mountain bikes, and 2 magnetic USB connectors to recharge the helmet and remote.
This helmet was launched through Kickstarter but now is available for purchase through their website for $164.
I was given this helmet in exchange for a product review. I had met the Lumos team at this year’s Interbike.
A comprehensive review of this helmet is in the works but for now, enjoy the unboxing video and let me know what you think about it in the comments below.

Posted at 18:43h, 18 NovemberHi Johnny, saw your video of the helmet. Interesting idea, but what about the life of the battery? This might be better for a day ride through the city, but I wonder about the need for a cross country ride, most of the time we ride away from traffic.

Posted at 16:43h, 21 NovemberHey Allyn! The battery life is about 2.5 hours if you’re running it on solid light mode. I’ll have more details of this in a follow-up review. I do agree with you on the urban aspect of the helmet but having something like this will help us be more visible. Again, I’ll have a thorough walk-through and my opinions.
