What’s In My Bag, Bike Touring Edition (Part 1 of 2)

What's in My Bag

Get ready to see exactly what I bring on my bike tours in a 2 part video series I call, “What’s In My Bag.” The first part is what I would bring on my typical multi-day bike tours. This is the traditional setup for a bike tour, which includes 4 panniers and a handlebar bag.

This should give you a good idea of what I take with me on trips like my 1 month Pacific Coast trip or across Europe in 3 months. The total weight of this setup, not including the bike, is 48 lbs. This includes all my panniers, bags, racks, and mirrors.

Check out my comprehensive packing list to help set you straight on your own packing priorities. Also, be sure to let me know below in the comments if you have a different idea or methodology behind your packing. I would love to learn a few things from you as well.

Stay tuned for the second part of “What’s In My Bag” in the next few weeks, where I go over a bikepacking setup.
