In our second “Everyday Bike Tourist” interview series, I talk to Joseph Philipson who in 2009 had biked over 4000 miles across the US with his riding partner Carlos Urreta. Their mission was to show that if they could bike across the country, you can get out and ride your bike the 2-3 miles around your community to run errands.
I had come across their blog back in 2009 when I first started getting into bike touring so it was an honor to talk to Joseph some more about their life-changing trip. Joseph shares with me some intimate details about his life before and after the trip and some really insightful realizations that shape the person he is today.
