“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”

– Henry David Thoreau

In my last post, I shared my year in review, and I have to say, a lot has happened this year. It’s going to be tough topping a year filled with so many new adventures and new friends. Actually, I think this coming year is going to do just that and top 2014, and dare I say…many years to come?

That is how big I anticipate this coming year will be with all the things I have lined up so far. I am both excited and nervous about what 2015 will conjure up for me.  Keep reading to find out what is in store for Milestone Rides!

More Local Tours

Our first Los Angeles Self-Supported Bicycle Touring MeetUp Group is in full swing for the new year. We have our second meeting scheduled in January. To find out the place and time, sign-up by visiting https://milestonerides.com/meetup and join us for bicycle tours in the near future. Our first trip’s destination will most likely be Ojai, California, so don’t miss out!

Some other trips that I am also thinking about include Azusa Canyon and Catalina Island this year. Either one, if you are in the Los Angeles area or in the surrounding area and would like to take part in a bicycle tour, join us.  We’ll get you started and take that adventure with you! It is up to you to act on it and make 2015 the year of bicycle touring.

The Tour of the Year

One of the things I wanted to implement after 2014’s epic ride down the Pacific Coast is the Milestone Rides “Tour of the Year”. This is going to be an epic multi-week or multi-month tour every year. So for 2015, I will attempt to ride across Europe from the Atlantic Ocean to the Black Sea in 3 months. We will be rolling through 9 countries: Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, and Romania.

We will be leaving the second half of March and returning in June. This will be my first time riding out of North America, as well as the first time I will be on the road for longer than a month. You would think I should have ridden across my own country once for practice, but when an opportunity like this knocks, you just have to answer it. More details of this trip will be revealed as I am doing my research and planning. Stay tuned!

Will Work for Adventure

Another big reveal for 2015 is that I will be part of the Adventure Cycling Association team for a tour in the beautiful state of Colorado during the summer! It will be a week-long tour, and I may not get to ride because I will be helping out on the tour as a staff member, but I’m already thinking of doing my own tour afterwards. Who wants to join me in Colorado?

I actually made the reveal of my super secret project with my email subscribers a few weeks ago and to my circle of friends. I will make the official announcement in a few weeks. Just know that you’ll get more information on bicycle touring and be entertained.

Speaking of exclusive content, I will make another subscribers only announcement in next week’s email newsletter (January 5, 2015), which goes out every Monday at 5PM. Go sign up here and get exclusive information delivered to your inbox.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, 2015 is shaping up to be another huge year for Milestone Rides as I will be able knock out a few milestone rides myself. I hope to meet friends and continue to produce valuable content throughout the year. I look forward to bringing fresh content and information for your touring pleasure.

Happy New Year! May your uphills lead to beautiful vistas and your journey brings you happiness.

Please make sure you sign up for my weekly email newsletter and share this site with friends and family who may be interested in a bicycle touring adventure.
