Amazon Store is Open

Writing for this blog has been a huge pleasure since we started back in October 2013.  While we are enjoying all things bike touring, we are constantly talking about and looking at things that make our travels easier and enjoyable.  We have been traveling and experimenting with several different products and would like to share our favorite items with our readers.  As a result, we are proud to launch the Milestone Rides Amazon Store.

This store will showcase most of our favorite gears for the bike, in camp, and items we wear when touring.  Each item has an explanation as to why and who owns the item in question.  The products are logically grouped, starting with accessories on the bike and ending with digital gadgets used on the road for blogging.

Something is missing

You will also notice that not all our belongings are listed here.  Our touring bikes are not listed because Amazon does not have any sellers available who are selling our bikes.  You will also notice that things like our tent and sleeping bags are also not available at the moment.  That is because a lot of those items are REI brand, which Amazon does not sell.  We’re actually working on another similar store front for all things REI so stay tuned for that.

What are you getting out of this?

In full disclosure, each of the items in our store is linked to our Amazon affiliate account, so if you purchase an item, a certain percentage of the sale is credited to us.  This helps us pay for things, like travel expenses or upgrading gears for us to write about.  Please consider buying through our store once you’re ready to make the purchase.  We’ll be able to afford continuing to provide you with interesting content on our blog, and you will have the benefit of owning items you know that have been “tried and true” in real-life situations.

Our commitment

Needless to say, we will do our best to provide the most honest opinion about a piece of gear so that you have more data points to help you make an informed decision on purchasing the item.  We are not being sponsored by any company when we write these reviews nor are we given merchandise to test at the moment.  However, this doesn’t mean that we are not open to these opportunities in the future.  If and when that scenario happens, we will certainly let you know of any ties beforehand.  Complete disclosure will be our commitment to you.

There are definitely other alternatives out there when it comes to gear, so our items in the store are not the end-all, be-all for bike touring.  Use this as a guide to select your own gear.  Know that our style of bike touring may not be the same as yours, therefore, many things that we choose may not make any sense.  But if our list resonates with you and you’re ready to make purchases, please do so through our store.  We thank you in advance and hope that you find it useful.

How do I access the store?

The store can be accessed at the top part of every page.  It will sit in the top navigation menu so that you can get to it at any page within https://milestonerides.com.  We will occasionally have links to products directly as well, so look for those in future blog posts.

Once you’re in the store, you can add items to the Shopping Cart to purchase by providing your Amazon credentials.  It will be just like if you were shopping on the Amazon site with the exception of crediting us on your purchase.

UPDATE: Because there wasn’t any traction coming from the store, I have decided to remove it from our navigation. The link above to the store still works.

Please let us know below in the comments if you have any questions about our store.  You can also contact us using our Contact Page or emailing contact@milestonerides.com.

Disclosure of Material Connection: Some of the links in the post above are “affiliate links.” This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, I will receive an affiliate commission. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will add value to my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”
