BMW worker sparks fury after suggesting drivers ‘start dooring cyclists’ and post videos on social media – The title says it all. I just can’t believe how blatant a person is to call others to cause bodily harm to another human beings. Is he that naive to think that he won’t know anybody in his circle of friends who ride bikes? Let’s see how he would feel if someone he knew was doored on purpose and filmed for him to see. At the end of the day, we’re all people despite the way we get around. We can only hope BMW and Australian authorities gets a hold of this d-bag.

More popular than deer hunting? Green Lake Country residents learn how bicycling generates big bucks (the kind without the antlers) – That’s right, bicycling brings in the money according to this Wisconsin community. It was reported that bicycle tourists spent $579,000 just on food services during the month of May to October last year which saw about 12.8% of their guests hopping on two wheels.

Gear up and take a break on a bicycle safari – A great general overview on bicycle tourism from SFGate. This is a great primer for those who are thinking about taking their bikes on trips. The article goes over the equipment you’ll need as well as where to go around the Bay Area and resources for trips. SHAMELESS PLUG: Don’t forget to come to Milestone Rides for more resources.

Five Fun City Bike Tours – Momentum Magazine highlights a pretty good list of cool bike tours. Unfortunately, Los Angeles did not make the cut. But there are definitely others out there I’d like to go check out from San Francisco to Brooklyn, there’s bound to be a good bike ride to check out.

Johnny’s #30daysofbiking pledge – Johnny’s going to go through the month of April riding everyday. Check on his progress starting April 1st through our Instagram and Twitter updates. Don’t be left out of the fun and pledge to do the same.

Bike Curious – The Right and Wrong Way to Lock Your Bike – Another good article from Momentum Magazine reminds us how to keep our steed within our possessions by going over lock strategies. Knowing how to lock your bike is just part of it. If possible, have your bike within close reach so you can keep an eye out on it would be better. Also, bike locks won’t prevent 100% of bike theft. Better locks just buys you more time or deter a theft from targeting your bike.
