(Video) Bike Touring 101 – Part 4

Here is the fourth video from our Bike Touring 101 presentation which took place on March 1, 2014 at Stan’s Bike Shop in Monrovia, California.  I presented with Errin Vasquez (@Area45).  If you miss the previous videos, here they are.

Venue Change

If you have been following our videos, you’ll notice that we are presenting at a different location than the other 3 videos.  The reason was that the noise from the rain storm forced us to move the presentation to the front of the bike shop so that people can hear the questions better.  It was a good move as the group felt intimate and people had a chance to take a look at the bikes and interact with us better.

What’s in the bag?

In this 4 minute video, I go through my sleeping arrangement and his kitchen bag.  I show people my tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat
, and Jetboil stove.  Most of my equipment comes from REI so it is more accessible for people who would like to pick up items at a brick-and-mortar store right away.  I also showed people that I bring Gatorade powder, wet wipes, some oatmeal, and my trusty titanium spork.  This kitchen bag is normally the heaviest when I am carrying food around but for the purpose of the demonstration, I barely have anything in it.
