Day 12: See You Later (Twin Harbors SP to Bay Center)

Johnny Lam : July 13, 2014 11:59 am : Rides, Tour Series

On the next day of our trip, we all said farewell as Sang Hyun and I headed south towards Bay Center, Washington while Victoria and Evadne headed north to grab breakfast as Westport.  Knowing that it was our day off tomorrow encouraged us to keep trekking down the coast towards a plethora of oyster shacks. more »

Day 13: Warm Waters (Day Off)

Johnny Lam : July 13, 2014 3:00 pm : Rides, Tour Series

It seems that each off day offers something different than the previous ones so far.  This is only our second day off, but what we did for fun was entirely different than what we did the last time in Victoria, BC.  This time we had company for half of the day and spent more time more »

Day 14: Fancy Seeing You Here (Bay Center, WA to Fort Stevens, OR)

Johnny Lam : July 13, 2014 8:00 pm : Rides, Tour Series

Having a day off was certainly nice. Even though we both enjoyed our time at the KOA, we had to pack everything up and see the rest of the Pacific Coast as planned.  We piled on the miles and even made our way over Astoria Bridge, the bridge that connects Oregon to Washington, which stretch more »

Day 15: The Best & The Worst (Fort Stevens to Idaville)

Johnny Lam : July 14, 2014 7:00 am : Rides, Tour Series

This was a day to remember.  We rode as a team of four, was challenged by a couple of steep hills, pedaled through beautiful locations, and ended on a lower note with a horrible dinner and camping experience.  These, as well as other events, went down like this for us. Getting Familiar It was agreed more »

Today marks the first day of the second half of our trip.  We planned for 32 days on the road and here we are waking up at a questionable county campsite in Paciific City with our sights set on a 70 miler day.  We couldn’t have had it any other way.  Although sunshine would have more »

Day 18: Ride to Comfort (Beachside SP to Florence)

Johnny Lam : July 15, 2014 3:00 pm : Rides, Tour Series

As we approached our third rest day for our trip, we found ourselves leaving a campsite on the beach for the comfort of a motel room and soft bed. The miles were short, but the scenery was amazing as we climbed and descended countless hills. We even got to see some wild life, like sea more »

Day 19: Sleepy (Day Off)

Johnny Lam : July 16, 2014 7:00 am : Rides, Tour Series

During our third day off of our trip, we settled into somewhat of a natural flow. We both already knew what needed to happen this day – breakfast, laundry, blog, dinner, and sleep. We were even lucky to have a television in our motel room, which was pretty much locked on the Tour de France more »

Day 20: Tailwind (Florence to Sunset Bay SP)

Johnny Lam : July 16, 2014 3:00 pm : Rides, Tour Series

Waking up from a warm and soft bed this morning to go out on the road to endure a day of gloomy cold weather was not appealing at all. We had an alarm for 7AM, but didn’t roll out of bed until 7:30. Eventually, we made it out of the motel a little after 8AM more »
